Role Summary

The Post-Harvest Technician (Trimming) at Hale Farm, a medical cannabis facility in Tasmania, Australia, plays an essential role in preparing harvested flower for final processing. Working closely with the post-harvest and cultivation teams, this position ensures that all flower material is trimmed, sorted, and handled to Hale Farm’s quality and compliance standards.

The technician is responsible for hand-trimming flower buds with precision, maintaining consistent product quality, and following strict hygiene, safety, and record-keeping procedures in line with Australian medicinal cannabis regulations (ODC/TGA), GMP principles, and GACP standards.

This role contributes directly to the farm’s production output, supporting the smooth transition of material from harvest through to final processing. The Post-Harvest Technician helps uphold Hale Farm’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hand-trimming flower buds with precision and consistency

  • Removing stems, leaves, and unwanted plant material

  • Sorting and quality-checking product

  • Maintaining a clean, organised workspace

  • Following hygiene and safety procedures

  • Working both independently and as part of a team
